About this Landmark

The spiritual nerve center of Jabalpur. Every evening as dusk sets in, thousands assemble along Uma Ghat to witness the synchronized waving of multi-tiered brass oil lamps, accompanied by chants, conch blowing, and thousands of floating leaf diyas adrift on the holy Narmada.

Historical Significance

Comparable to Varanasi’s Dashashwamedh Ghat aarti, Gwarighat also houses the historic Gurudwara Gwarighat, visited by Guru Nanak Dev Ji in 1514 AD.
